DEVELOPERS
Build practical connections.
For technical teams evaluating ServiceCanopy, the important questions are data ownership, supported actions, authentication, reliability, and clear error handling.

Understand the objects first
A service integration needs a consistent model for companies, customers, properties, technicians, jobs, appointments, equipment, estimates, invoices, and payments. Document IDs, relationships, required fields, and which system owns each value.

Design API access carefully
A useful API needs scoped credentials, predictable JSON responses, validation errors, versioning, pagination, and rate-limit documentation. Avoid exposing one tenant's data through another tenant's key or letting a read-only token perform writes.

Treat webhooks as a delivery system
Events can arrive late, duplicate, or out of order. Consumers need stable IDs, signatures, timestamps, retry behavior, and idempotent processing. The provider should offer delivery logs and clear replay guidance.

Build honest documentation
If an endpoint is still planned, label it planned. Publish tested request/response examples only after they run against a controlled environment. Do not create a fictional API reference solely to fill search pages.

A practical checklist
- Request a tested schema with IDs, relationships and tenant-scoped objects.
- Review token permissions, failure responses, pagination and rate limits.
- Test signed webhook retries and duplicate-event handling.
- Do not publish endpoints or code examples that are still only planned.
Good questions
What else would
you like to know?
Is the API currently public?
Public API availability, authentication and endpoint coverage have not been verified.
Are webhooks supported?
Webhooks are part of the planned integration design. Working event types must be confirmed.
Where can we find technical documentation?
Approved documentation should be linked here after it matches tested code and accessible example requests.
