PAYMENT LINKS

Let customers pay from their phone.

A secure payment link can help customers settle an invoice without reading a card number over the phone.

In development · workflows described here are planned. Availability, supported devices, and limits have not been verified.

Make the request clear

The message should identify the business, invoice, amount, and secure destination. Customers should never have to guess whether a random short link is trustworthy. Provide a way to verify a request if they are unsure.

Let the payment provider handle card details

Use hosted checkout or provider-approved collection methods. Do not store payment card numbers, security codes, or card photos in customer notes, SMS threads, or ordinary website databases.

Handle expired or repeated links safely

A link may expire, be opened twice, or be forwarded. The workflow should reject duplicate charges, show a clear status, and let authorized staff issue a fresh request if needed.

Bring confirmation back to the office

Payment is complete only when a trustworthy provider event has been verified and reconciled to the right invoice. Staff should also be able to identify failed attempts, refunds, and disputes without guessing.

Example to try: After a furnace repair, the office sends an invoice-specific link. The customer sees the provider checkout, pays, and the office only marks the balance settled after verified confirmation.

A practical checklist

  • Open a test payment link that was already paid and confirm it cannot double-charge.
  • Verify expired-link messaging and authorized reissue behavior.
  • Confirm the provider handles card entry outside normal application storage.
  • Simulate a delayed webhook and check accurate invoice reconciliation.

Good questions

What else would
you like to know?

Can a link go by SMS or email?

That is the planned delivery path; verify provider configuration, consent, and whether this is released.

Are payment links secure?

Security depends on the actual provider-hosted flow, link lifecycle, permissions, and implementation testing.

Can a customer make a partial payment?

Partial payment capability must be tested with the invoice and reconciliation rules.
