FIELD VIEW

Everything about the next job, in one view.

Technicians should be able to find the address, contact, problem, equipment details, and next step without digging through messages.

In development · workflows described here are planned. Availability, supported devices, and limits have not been verified.

Put the urgent details up front

At the top: appointment time, address, customer contact, job status, and the reported issue. Keep maps, call actions, site access notes, and any alerts easy to reach. Important notes should not disappear below several decorative cards.

Give context without information overload

Equipment model and serial number, prior service, installation notes, approved estimate, and job photos may all matter. Show enough context to prepare, with deeper history available when needed.

Show what needs to happen next

A useful job view makes it clear whether the technician should check in, review a checklist, request approval, document repair, or close the visit. If work cannot finish, record the reason and hand off cleanly.

Test it with technicians

Ask someone from the field team to use the screen on an ordinary phone. Time how long it takes to find the gate code, last visit, job scope, and contact number. Confusion here can cost real time on every service call.

Example to try: During a roof-mounted commercial repair, the technician needs the access contact, equipment asset ID, parking notes, and work authorization without phoning the office.

A practical checklist

  • Find a gate note, equipment serial number and last technician visit within a few taps.
  • Check that the phone view remains readable in direct sunlight.
  • Test a visit with a changed scope and unresolved follow-up.
  • Verify which billing and personal fields are hidden from field-only roles.

Good questions

What else would
you like to know?

Is the same job view available to the office?

Role-specific screens should share the same underlying job data, with appropriate permission boundaries. Confirm current behavior.

Can a technician add photos?

Photo capture and upload need a working demonstration and storage/privacy review.

Can we use a phone without installing an app?

Browser-based versus native app support must be confirmed for the current release.
