Define each option independently

An illustrative repair / upgrade / replacement comparison should identify what each option includes and excludes. Label the customer’s selected option and do not add alternative prices together. These blank files contain no recommended equipment or market pricing.

An illustrative good / better / best comparison

These labels describe an example presentation, not a technical recommendation. A qualified professional must decide which options suit the property. Use a separate estimate file for each option so the customer sees the scope and price they are actually choosing.

Describe the installation boundary

Identify the proposed equipment, access assumptions, removal, commissioning scope supplied by a qualified professional, and any work by others. Record estimate revisions when a site finding changes the proposal. This worksheet does not supply technical installation instructions.

Adapt the blank file before use

Replace the business and customer fields, choose the currency, and review payment terms, required disclosures, tax treatment, and approval language for your location. Keep files in authorized storage and never record payment card numbers or credentials. These administrative drafts have no legal, tax, safety, or trade-expert approval.

Check the totals and terms

The spreadsheet calculates ten line amounts, subtracts a fixed discount, adds a manually entered tax amount, and subtracts recorded payments or deposits. Tax is entered manually because this file does not determine tax rules. A negative balance indicates a credit or overpayment for review. The Word version is manually completed; neither file collects money or creates a digital signature.

Example to try: Example option structure: Repair existing unit / Replace affected component / Replace equipment, each with its own conditions and actual contractor pricing.
